It is proven that active rehabilitative care is
far more effective in combination with
traditional chiropractic methods
alone.
Rehabilitation Sessions
A
rehabilitation plan is devised that is patient
specific and involves using a variety of
techniques from passive and functional
stretching to cardiovascular conditioning to
balance and strength
training. Each patient’s
individual session may or may not include all
of the activities outlines
below. The specific treatment
plan will be based on the assessment of Dr.
Aldrich and Casey so that the session best
meets the individuals
needs.
A
rehabilitation session generally consists of a
warm-up, stretching and
exercise.
-
Warm up is an integral part of
rehabilitation because it warms up the
muscles and gets them ready to
stretch.
-
The stretching and exercise portion of the
session often consists of static stretching
where the position is held for 10- 30
seconds and then relaxed. This is
repeated several times. Stretching
can be performed on the exercise balls, on
the mats, or with balance equipment.
Other times, more functional stretching
like post-isometric stretching with the
assistance of the doctor is more
beneficial. Exercises will then be
performed to target specific areas of
dysfunction including faulty movement
patterns, postural distortions, or muscle
weakness. Many exercises can be
performed without the need for expensive
gym equipment or even weights, and can be
modified to challenge even elite-level
athletes.
-
The progress of each session is recorded
and progress is evaluated and adapted to
match a patient’s
goals.
Treatment is always based on the needs and
goals of the patient. The patient’s end
goal of treatment is based on the demands of
their daily lives and their lifestyle
goals.
Let Dr.
Aldrich’s extensive experience in
rehabilitation and his knowledge improve your
quality of life with a rehabilitation plan that
fits you.
